The church centre currently has a 200 seat auditorium and an accompanying office and youth centre block on a four-acre section within central Tauranga.
Abundant Life Community Church has a proven record in community involvement. During the past 20 years it has provided many diverse activities and services in order to help people in need.
We are currently planning a new building complex at the south end of our land as the next step in this vision. The new church complex will enable us to minister to many more people in our community through these expanded facilities.
In developing the complex, we are looking to build a multi-purpose building that will be used for:
- Corporate worship
- Ministering to, teaching and training the Church to be effective locally, nationally and internationally
- Providing courses and programmes that will
benefit the local community
These include:
- Life skills programmes including courses on budgeting and conflict management
- Counselling services with professionally trained, multi-skilled personnel and leaders
- Family counselling and parenting courses
- Youth activities and a support network for at-risk youth and adolescents.
- Children's holiday programmes
- After-school childrens' programmes and homework centre
- Practical help for the local community
- Foodbank support
- Marriage enrichment and pre-marriage counselling
- Drama, music, dance, arts and crafts training
- Men's and Women's support groups
Particular concern and interest will focus on those in a lower socio-economic bracket, where low or no-cost services will be offered to those not eligible for government assisted funding. All of these services will be provided within a cultural and gender appropriate environment.
We are committed to investing into our community and to be a centre of positive influence in the local community. We have a willingness to co-operate with, and compliment, other services and organisations in the area.
To fulfil these purposes, IS54:The Centre will include a 600 seat auditorium, 2 small classrooms, a library, counselling rooms, offices, creche facilities, a kitchen and a cafe. The existing buildings on the site will also be used in conjunction with the new centre.
